Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri has appointed a new seven-member board to oversee Changamire Company, in a move aimed at driving the firm’s growth and contribution to national development.

Changamire Company is a commercial entity under the Ministry of Defence and the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.

The board will be chaired by Colonel (Retired) Joseph Mhakayakora and includes Dr Lovemore Gomera, Dr Thulani Makumire, Engineer Owen Maipisi, Colonel V Mpofu, Mr Shingai Matumbwa and Dr Louisa Ndlovu.

Speaking at the board’s inauguration on Wednesday, Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri said the new appointments should signal a fresh start for the company, anchored on its mandate to generate revenue for the ministry while supporting the country’s socio-economic transformation.

“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in the growth and development of this company, which has been established with a clear mandate to create financial wealth for the Ministry of Defence while contributing meaningfully to Zimbabwe’s socio-economic transformation through infrastructure development,” she said.
