Delta revenue on the rise

DELTA Corporation, the country’s largest company in value terms, reported that revenue for the second quarter ended September 30 rose 3 percent driven by a 4 percent growth in overall beverage volumes. In a trading update, the company said lager beer volumes declined 12 percent compared to last year’s corresponding quarter and is 10percent down from the first half.

Soft drinks volumes increased by 4 percent during the quarter and 8 percent during the first half of the year.
Sorghum beer volumes grew 13 percent during the quarter and are up 9 percent during the first half year, largely due to the new Chibuku Super and the move by consumers to value product offerings.

Maheu was up 42 percent compared to the same quarter last year and 57 percent during the past six months. Delta management said the overall financial performance for the quarter was in line with our expectations. Last week, the price of beer went up by between US10c and US20c.

The price of a 375ml brown bottle is now US0,90c from US0,80c while 340ml green bottles are selling at US$1 from US0,80c.
Brown bottle quarts are now selling at US$1,75 from US$1,55 while green 660ml bottles are now US$1,80 up from US$1,75.
