THE High Schools Capital Markets Quiz Competition continues this Thursday, June 19, with 20 more schools vying for the last four slots in the finals which are set for June 27.

Organised by Zimpapers, in partnership with the Financial Markets Indaba, the competition is designed to demystify complex financial concepts and encourage students to explore local stock markets and investment opportunities, according to the organisers.

The quiz competition, which is being bankrolled by Old Mutual, POSB, Innscor, Delta, Tanganda, Tika Shoes, and Zimswitch, kicked off last week with four schools making it to the finals.

Commenting on Delta Corporation’s sponsorship, general manager Corporate Affairs Patricia Murambinda, stated, “Delta saw value in supporting the quiz competition as a way to ignite curiosity, sharpen critical thinking, and nurture the next generation of leaders who will shape our society.

“We believe that investing in knowledge-based competitions fosters intellectual growth, encourages teamwork, and aligns with our commitment to empowering communities through education.”

Zengeza High School won Pool A, while Moleli High School took the honours in Pool B. With 195 points, Harare High School scored the highest points across all groups to win Pool C, and they were later joined by Jameson High School, which won Pool D.

Battle lines are drawn again this Thursday and Friday, with defending champions Munashe High School looking to conquer Pool H.
