DeMbare CAPS in Mbada clash

to have irked the giant mining company and has put a strain on their relationship with the PSL amid indications that the sponsors may stop financing the prestigious tournament next year.
Mbada Diamonds have already written a scathing letter to the PSL leaders advising them they are unhappy with the way their name has been dragged into the mud by this crisis.
There appears to be a fight between the PSL executive and their secretariat, as highlighted by the sponsors in their letter, and this has soiled their name.
Yesterday, PSL chairman, Twine Phiri, released a press statement announcing the changes.
“The Premier Soccer League Executive Committee would like to inform all its stakeholders that the Mbada Diamonds Cup draw followed the Standard Confederation of African Football draw format of numbering matches from the first round to the final match.
“This means the semi-final matches for the Mbada Diamonds Cup 2012 shall be played as follows:-
“Match 13 – Monomotapa versus FC Platinum (Sakubva, 10 November 2012, 3pm).
“Match 14 – Dynamos versus CAPS United (Barbourfields, 11 November 2012, 3pm).
“We take this opportunity to sincerely apologise to the sponsors, Mbada Diamonds, the participating Clubs, all stakeholders and fans for the lack of clarity on the draw procedure. 
“We now invite all fans to bring their families to watch the explosive semi-final matches scheduled for next week.
“Mbada Diamonds and the PSL are committed to bringing football to all corners of the Zimbabwe, while harnessing diamonds for the people.
“We are certain that our Clubs and their football players are looking forward to lifting the prestigious Mbada Diamonds Cup, and represent Zimbabwe in the Caf Confederation Cup 2013,” wrote Phiri.
However, these latest developments and the confusion which has marred this year’s Mbada Diamonds Cup semis draw, have already drawn the ire of the mining firm and put a strain on their relationship with the PSL.
Last month, after the staging of the quarter-finals, the PSL secretariat announced that the two bitter rivals will lock horns in the semis, when all along it seemed that a Harare derby final was looming.
PSL chief executive Kenny Ndebele and Cuthbert Mtandwa told the media that there was a misinterpretation of the original Mbada Diamonds Cup.
They maintained that the fixtures, according to the booklet of rules and regulations they produced in September, pointed to a semi-final pitting the winner between Dynamos and Gunners taking on that of the CAPS United against Buffaloes tie.
But it emerged after a flurry of clear-the-air meetings, and a review of the original Mbada Diamonds Cup draw which was beamed live on TV, that Dynamos would be meeting FC Platinum in a repeat of last year’s semi-final.
PSL chairman Phiri then clarified the league’s position on the fixtures.
But yesterday, in another somersault, the league released a changed fixture schedule and, who knows, maybe next week another fixture programme will be released.
And the issue has also become a tricky one as PSL chairman Phiri is also the director of CAPS United.
Last year, in the inaugural Mbada Diamonds Cup, the two Harare giants were drawn in the in the first round of the tournament and the Green Machine bowed out after losing 1-0 to the Glamour Boys at the National Sports Stadium.
It was an epic battle, before a big crowd, at the giant facility.
