DeMbare fear Arubi loss

a big part in the second half of the season last year but has moved to South Africa’s Maritzburg United while Arubi is now a free agent and has set his sights on joining foreign clubs.
Both players had been registered for the Champions League campaign.
Dynamos assistant coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, said while they were still hoping for Arubi’s return, as he has not signed with any club, the technical team will look for other options to fill the gaps, which explains their decision to call Diya and Maroto.
“We have received no communication from Arubi since he left. He is a free agent and we have no power over him although we had registered him for the Champions League.
“But we have to move forward. We are still waiting to hear from him and if it happens that he comes back then that will be bonus.
“But we have George Chigova and Philip Nhete. Munyaradzi Diya is also training with us. He is another option we are looking at closely but we haven’t made a decision yet,” said Ndiraya.
On Maroto, Ndiraya said the coaches were still assessing him and chances are high that they may engage him if he impresses in the coming days.
DeMbare. who signed Zambian Derrick Kabwe and Tineyi Chitora to complement Golden Boot winner Roderick Mutuma and Martin Vengesai, still need to beef up their frontline following the departure of Malajila.
Maroto has been training with the club since his return from an unsuccessful trial stint in Egypt last week.
“We are definitely in need of at least one striker to beef up the department.
“That is why we have invited Norman. He has been training with us this week and is one player we are looking at unless other options crop up.
“If we are pleased with him, then we will definitely open up negotiations with FC Platinum because he still has a running contract with the club.
“But just like most of the other players, it seems he still has to work more on fitness,” said Ndiraya.
DeMbare are also concerned with injuries to their strikers – Kabwe, Mutuma and Vengesai – who have been joined on the sidelines by Thomas Magorimbo and Gift Bello.
“At the moment we are crippled with injuries and this has disrupted our preparations.
“We need to do something about our strikeforce because at the moment it’s only Takesure and Chitora who are up and running.
“However, most of the injuries are minor knocks and we expect them to recover soon.
“It’s only Kabwe who appears to have had a long-term worry.
“The doctors are saying he should be fit after three weeks.”
The players featured for DeMbare when they played a practice match against Motor Action at Motor Action Sports Club yesterday and the coaches gave virtually everyone a chance to play, including those from their development side.
Chinyama, whose future with the Glamour Boys is yet to be sealed, also featured in theat game.
Last week Chinyama trained with SuperSport United of South Africa and even played in one friendly game.
Dynamos vice-captain George Magariro and midfielder Wonder Sithole, who is battling a knee injury, also played in a 2-0 losing course.
“We are trying various combinations and it’s coming up but fitness-wise we still have a lot of work to do.
“Perhaps we will need more of these matches to see much improvement. ”
DeMbare have lined up a number of warm-up games and will travel to Zvishavane this Sunday for a friendly match against Luke Masomere’s Shabanie Mine.
