DEMBARE FOCUS ON ATTACK

DYNAMOS captain Frank Makarati says their failure to convert the chances they create has been their Achilles Heel in the championship race.

More work, he revealed, was spent this week on this key part of their game.

They take on Cranborne at Nyamhunga.

Last week they were held to a goalless draw by Simba Bhora at Barbourfields in a match they fluffed a host of chances.

The Hurricanes have proved to be a tough and stubborn outfit, especially against the established sides.

They have forced draws against champions FC Platinum and Chicken Inn in their recent games.

“As a team, we are working on our finishing. Last time we did well on the field but our finishing was poor,’ said Makarati.

“This week, against Cranborne, we are expecting goals.

“We are expecting to win on Saturday though we don’t have to put pressure on ourselves.

“As players, we adapt to the tactics we are told by the coaches and, with our current situation, you can’t say we have a new coach as we have worked with the current coach since the beginning of the season and we understand each other.”

Dynamos are likely to be without their first-choice goalkeeper, Pride Tafiremutsa, who took a knock in training on Wednesday.

The Glamour Boys feel they are still in the championship race even though they will need a very good run, in the final countdown, and also hope that the leaders drop points.

DeMbare are chasing their first championship in nine years and believe winning the league will be a cherry on top of their 60th birthday anniversary.
