The tie against FC Platinum was postponed as DeMbare were involved in a Caf Confederation Cup competition against Angola’s Interclube who beat them with identical 1-0 scorelines home and away.
Before that, DeMbare were among the clubs that protested having Highlanders play them on a weekend.
Their sudden turn-about is likely to raise eyebrows.
Already, they have benefited from the decision to have their big game against Caps United played on a weekend as they grossed $135 000 and now FC Platinum will, just like them, want to capitalise on their weekend slot.
In a telephone interview from his Harare base yesterday, the Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa confirmed asking for permission from the PSL to play their Week 16 game before their last match of the first half.
“What we are saying is that FC Platinum comes to Harare first this weekend since everyone is playing Week 16 games and then we travel to Zvishavane midweek for the postponed encounter.
“We are still waiting for PSL to respond to our request,” said Mubaiwa.
The Harare giants are sitting on position four with 27 points from 13 games.
Their outstanding fixtures are against FC Platinum and a rematch with Hwange.
Dynamos appealed to the Zifa Appeals Committee against a decision by the PSL Disciplinary Committee which ruled that they were supposed to play at a neutral venue against Hwange and also take care of Hwange’s expenses.
The above decision was made after Hwange coaches Nation Dube and Mebelo Njekwa were assaulted by Dynamos marshals before a league game at Rufaro Stadium.
Chances of Dynamos getting a favourable decision on having FC Platinum starting in Harare are minimal.
“What we agreed on was that all postponed games should be played before the start of the second half of the season. We will stick to the fixture.
“As for the Dynamos-Hwange date, we are still waiting for communication from Zifa as their case is set for an Appeals Committee hearing,” said Tawengwa Hara, the PSL board member competitions.
Meanwhile, the other teams will at the weekend begin their second round with log leaders Highlanders taking on log anchors Quelaton at Barbourfields Stadium.
A fortnight ago the two teams played to a 1-1 draw with Milton Ncube scoring for Bosso while Eddy Nkulungo equalised for Kwela Kwela.
