DeMbare still to decide on Rambanapasi

Rambanapasi back following his return from an unsuccessful job-hunt in Europe.
Rambanapasi, who sneaked off from the Dynamos camp and went for trials in Cyprus late last year, is now back home and has been training with 2009 champions Gunners during the last few weeks.
However, the gritty midfielder showed up at Dynamos’ training on Tuesday but was not at liberty to discuss his status although he is believed to be keen on returning to the club.
Assistant coach Masimba Dinyero yesterday said they are still to decide whether to take him on board or not.
He said they will discuss with the executive to see if they could accommodate him in their squad, which would mean sacrificing one player from their provisional 30-member list submitted to the Premier Soccer League last week.
Rambanapasi was one of the key players at DeMbare last season and had won the hearts of the large section of the Dynamos faithful.
“He is a good player and as coaches we don’t have any problem with him coming to train with us. But the problem arises with the requirements of the PSL, which limit the number of players to be registered for the season.
“So we will have to sit down with the executive and they will have the final decision whether we take him or not,” Dinyero said.
Dinyero however, left the door open for the midfielder although he indicated that they would not want to disturb the team’s rhythm after two months of pre-season work-outs.
“We can choose to sacrifice one player from our initial list but we didn’t want to do that as that would disturb our rhythm. We have been working hard as a unit since we began our preparations and we wouldn’t want to break the spirit of one young man,” he said.
Team manager Richard Chihoro said they have not yet entered into negotiations with Rambanapasi and would want to assess him.
Dynamos are preparing to face Motor Action in the season-opening NetOne Charity Shield match at Rufaro on Sunday. Dinyero said he is excited by the team’s pre-season form but warned the Glamour Boys to be more cautious against the defending league champions.
Dinyero who rejoined the side from Kiglon together with head coach Lloyd Mutasa during the off-season feels encouraged by the team’s early results after winning six of their last seven warm-up games, including one against the Mighty Bulls. It has been a promising start for DeMbare who are also using Sunday’s match as preparations for the Champions League first leg tie against MC Alger coming the next weekend.
“This is a new game altogether and as you know cup games are anyone’s. It’s a 50-50 situation and we cannot depend on history to win this shield. We obviously want to maintain our winning streak to keep the confidence levels high. Of course Motor Action could be coming for revenge but we are prepared for them.
“It’s common knowledge that every team wants to win. For us it’s good to boost the team’s morale and it will be a bonus for the players to take the first prize money,” he said.
Dinyero indicated there would be no major changes to the side that beat Highlanders 1-0 on Sunday.
