DYNAMOS have pegged a US$1 entrance fees for their three friendly matches set for this week as part of the preparations for the Champions League assignment. The Harare giants are set to engage Premiership returnees Chapungu at Gwanzura tomorrow, Black Rhinos at Rimuka on Saturday before winding up their programme against ZPC Kariba at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The club’s secretary-general, Webster Chikengezha, yesterday said tomorrow’s match will get underway at 2pm to allow the supporters time to go back home and watch the Warriors’ semi-final clash against Libya at the CHAN tournament on television.
DeMbare, who are seeking better fortunes this year following a disappointing run in the previous three editions, are using the friendly matches to fine-tune their squad for the Champions League tournament. They are set to open their campaign at home in the preliminary round against Botswana’s Mochudi Centre Chiefs over the weekend of February 7-9. Team manager Richard Chihoro yesterday said they need game time to test their strengths following two months of intensive ground work.
“The guys are doing well. We played our first practice match against Black Rhinos last week and I must say we were impressed by what we saw, considering it was our first match with the old and new players.
“The combinations are shaping up and we can only get better the more we get this kind of exposure.”
