DYNAMOS will finally receive their Chibuku Super Cup prize money by the end of the week, although the payout comes with a cloud hanging over it. The Harare giants are due before the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee to answer charges of bringing the game into disrepute, and the outcome of that case will determine how much they actually pocket.
DeMbare clinched the 2025 Chibuku Super Cup after edging Triangle United 1-0 in a tense final at Gibbo on November 22. The victory earned them US$75 000, but the money has not yet been released because the club remains tied to a disciplinary matter.
Dynamos were accused of delaying the final when they protested over the number of match balls to be used, causing the kick-off to start 20 minutes late. Their technical team will now appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee on Thursday.
Zimpapers Sports Hub understands that Dynamos have already pleaded guilty and are awaiting the verdict. If the Committee imposes a fine, the league will deduct it from the Chibuku Super Cup payout before releasing the balance to the club.
PSL Chief Executive Officer Rodwell Thabe clarified the process.
“We have paid everyone except Dynamos because they have a pending case, but we are not saying they will lose the case. It’s the procedure — we withhold the money when there is a pending judgment,” Thabe told Zimpapers Sports Hub.
He said the decision should be out in the next few days.

“The judgment will be delivered in the next few days, then they will be paid their Chibuku Super Cup prize money. If they lose the case and they are fined, we will deduct the money from their prize.”
Dynamos chairman Moses Maunganidze confirmed the club has not received the money.
“We are yet to receive the funds; as to why, we are not sure. It’s something we have already put before the PSL to advise on the timelines.”
A PSL letter dated December 3 and signed by Communications and Media Officer Kudzai Bare summoned Dynamos and members of their technical team to answer charges related to the delay.
“The Premier Soccer League has summoned Dynamos FC and their technical officials Kelvin Kaindu, Thomas Ruzive, Takesure Chinyama and Thulani Muzambwa to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee on charges of disorderly conduct, which resulted in the delay of the match kick-off during their Chibuku Super Cup fixture against Triangle United FC played on November 29, 2025 at Gibbo Stadium.
“The club and its officials are accused of disturbing the normal proceedings of a match, failing to comply with lawful instructions and engaging in conduct deemed improper and likely to bring the league into disrepute in terms of the PSL Rules and Regulations. The disciplinary hearing is scheduled to take place on Thursday December 11, 2025 at 17:30 hours at the PSL offices,” wrote the PSL.
Dynamos need the funds to settle outstanding bonuses. Winning the Chibuku Super Cup should have provided a vital financial cushion. The full amount will only be paid if the Committee issues a warning instead of a fine. The size of the payout now depends on what happens tomorrow.
