Dembo siblings invade Bindura

The brothers are expected to join sungura maestro Tongai “Dhewa” Moyo for another gig at Club Galactica on Good Friday.
It appears music promoter Joel Munyepfu has fallen in love with the exploits of the Dembos such that he has planned a series of shows in which they will play as the main act.
But in Bindura, Morgan and Tendai Dembo will be supported by the rejuvenated R&K Sounds led by Rangarirai Sagombeto.
The show is likely to see the young Dembos rekindling the old Barura days where their late father, Leonard “Musoro Wenyoka” Dembo, used to bring the small mining town to life.
As is always the case, the young Dembos will churn out renditions of their late father’s classics including hits such as “Chitekete”, “Babamunini”, “Shiri Yakangwara” and “Madhiri”, among others.
Fans can look forward to a night of musical bliss when the youthful musicians take them down memory lane.
Suffice to say Dhewa singles out the late Dembo (Leonard) as his biggest inspiration.
He is expected to wow fans with his social commentary ditties that fans love most.
Munyepfu said the gigs were meant to give the talented and exuberant Dembo pair a platform to grow in the industry.
“We want the two to learn the skills of the field. And the best way for them to acquire and acquaint themselves with the field is holding solo acts,” he said.
He also said his “marriage” with the Dembos will see the youthful artistes touring the country.
Music critics and musicians alike have commended Morgan and Tendai for reviving the Barura legacy.
The two have also shared the stage with Alick Macheso and Sulumani Chimbetu.
