Depay wore WRONG T-shirt on Dutch Euro2016 exit!

Dutch football is in chaos – and nothing sums it up better than the Memphis Depay shirt mystery .

Manchester United’s £24 million winger played in Tuesday night’s disastrous Euro qualfiers exit against the Czech Republic in Amsterdam. The only problem was he was wearing the wrong shirt.

Kit sponsors Nike supply special international shirts bearing the badges of Holland and their opponents. And there was the giveaway.

Depay’s shirt for the Czech match carried the Dutch and Iceland flags from their qualifying clash that was staged in Amsterdam on September 3.

Holland lost to the Czech Republic 3-2 to end their lingering hopes of a play-off place.

So five weeks after being given the shirt Depay wore it in the wrong game.

The theory is that Depay left the Iceland shirt in his kit bag, opened it later and dug out the wrong shirt for the wrong game. – AFP
