Devolution funded equipment unveiled in Goromonzi

Goromonzi Rural District Council has been hailed for complimenting Vision 2030 through purchasing of high impact equipment in order to improve service delivery in the district.

The council took the delivery of a borehole rig, tipper, refuse collection truck, vibrator roller and a tractor valued at $13,4 million procured from their share of devolution fund.

Unveiling the equipment at Chinyika Clinic in Goromonzi, Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Aplonia Munzverengwi applauded President Mnangagwa’s vision of achieving an upper middle income economy by 2030.

Minister Munzverengwi called on the council to service the machinery using professionals for longevity.

“The machines should be operated by trained personnel and serviced by professional services providers to avoid breakdown,” she said. “This equipment should serve the purpose of uplifting lives.”

Goromonzi RDC chief executive officer Mr Trust Madhovi said the council made tremendous progress in terms of improving service delivery using devolution funds.
