Dhewa donates to Chomudhara

has got a heart for others as well.
This was evident on Sunday night, when he donated dress outfits to one of Zimbabwe’s talented guitarist, Rodrick Chomudhara and his five-member band at Mushandirapamwe Hotel in Highfield. Dhewa, who, as usual was immaculately dressed for the occasion, said the donation was meant to express his brotherly love to Chomudhara, who he said stood by him during difficult times.
“He is one of the few people who have been with me, even at my darkest moments in life.
“When I was sick and I could not hold shows, he would on several occasions volunteer to stage shows with me for free. I am extremely humbled by his love,” he said.
Dhewa added that he will continue to assist Chomudhara and the group whenever the need arises.
But, of course, there is no doubt that the flamboyant musician wants to narrow the gap on dressing between Utakataka Express and Chemudhara’s outfit.
“Yes, of course, it has always been my dream to see Rodrick and his members dressed up the way we do,” he said.
Chemudhara, who appeared speechless after the donation, thanked the Dhewa for his good gesture.
“Zvakadai zvinofadza kuziva kuti varipo vanoshuvira zvakanaka zveupenyu hwako (It is gratifying to note there are people out there who are concerned about other people’s welfare).
Chomudhara has been partnering Dhewa on most of his shows throughout the country in the last few months.
Their recent show they held at Mushandirapamwe proved that the synergy they created is working for both of them. On and off the stage, it was clear that they now relate on different issues and seem to have created an understanding, something that several musicians ought to emulate.
The same can be said about Alick Macheso and Tryson Chimbetu, who also appeared to have struck the right chord, whenever they are on stage.
