tonight.
The two are not new to joint performances as they have wowed fans before in the Harare Gardens.
Fans have already geared themselves for this high-octane show which many have described as the weekend’s main highlight, judging by the level of excitement it has generated in town in the last few days.
Both Tongai and Sulu promised their fans a show to remember.
Tongai, who has been receiving treatment, said he was raring to go, adding that fans had nothing to worry about since his doctor had declared him fit.
“My health has not affected my artistic career in any way, and the joy of it all is that my doctors monitor my condition and I am grateful for that,” he said.
Dhewa, as he is fondly called by his legion of fans, is not a new name in the entertainment business as he has churned out several hits like “Muchina Muhombe” and “Zakeo” that has endeared him to the fans in Zimbabwe and abroad.
The Utakataka frontman has defied all odds by staging memorable performances, at a time when most people think he would not be able to lift his leg.
He will be at his usual best tonight, when he gyrates on stage at the City Sports Bar, situated along Kaguvi Street.
Fans and promoters alike have lauded Dhewa’s resilience in holding shows even he has not been feelong well.
His treatment needs a lot of money and he has not been going around with a begging bowl, but has instead been working tirelessly to foot his ballooning medical bills, which run into thousands of dollars a month.
He has remained one of the most consistent artistes in Zimbabwe and he has released more than 10 albums to his name, making a household name in the music industry.
To further cement his popularity, Dhewa will be one of the drawcards in the Chibuku Road to Fame finals to be held on September 17 at Glamis Arena.
On the other hand, Sulu or simply “Mwana WeDangwe”, is set to continue where he left off at the family show at Harare Gardens, when he joins Dhewa on stage tonight.
The dendera prodigy is currently riding high with his hit song, “Kwedu”, which featured superstar Oliver Mtukudzi. The “Non-Stop” hitmaker has proved that he is now a force to reckon with in the music industry with five-star performances that has left the crowd in awe.
Sulu is expected to take revellers down memory lane as he belts some of the songs that were done by his legendary late father, Simon “Chopper” Chimbetu.
This is a must-attend show for music lovers as it features two of the most sought-after musicians in the country right now.
