SOUTH Africa-based bodybuilder, Ndumiso “Nduu” Dhlodlo, says he will retain his Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Strongman Challenge at the ZITF grounds in Bulawayo tomorrow. Dhlodlo, the Nkulumane-born hulk won the event last year before he went on to dominate several categories like Mr Zimbabwe and coming out in respectable positions at the Arnold Classic.

The National Federation Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness will host the tournament where they expect several top athletes to take part.

The contest has seen several big names confirming their availability with senior men bodybuilding title holder and reigning Mr Zimbabwe, Dhlodlo, confirming his presence.

Also in to defend their titles are Michele Matsito the women bikini champion and junior men bodybuilding title winner last year, Nigel Simango.

Dhlodlo said this is going to be part of his Arnold Classic title defence.
“Yes I’m coming to defend the title, but it is going to be hard because I was not well and only took training seriously a few months ago,’’ he said.

“It is the love of sport that is seeing me come and I believe it is going to help me to push more and I am fighting to defend my Arnold Classic title which is my next port of call.

“I believe I will make it,” said Dhlodlo.
NFZBB spokesperson, Quiet Shingai, said they were looking forward to a successful contest as several athletes had confirmed their presence.

“The registration time is 11am at Bodyworks Gym, National Railways Building, Bulawayo, while the contest will begin at noon at the ZITF grounds.

“Athletes will be ferried from Bodyworks Gym to the ZITF grounds.
“The event has several sponsors who include PPC Cement Zimbabwe, the title sponsors, Inter Cape, Proton, Muscle Rage, United Refinery and NXN,” said Shingai.
