On the eve of the festive season,A� attention in Bulawayo is suddenly turning to the biggest entertainment event in the citya��s calendar.
You guessed it! Ita��s Oskidoa��s annual Kalawa Homecoming slated for 28 December.
The event has become a major attraction for Zimbabweans resident both inside and outside the country with those in South Africa in particular making the event their own homecoming of sorts.
One of those Zimbabweans resident in South Africa is Kalawa acolyte Diliza, who hopes that the gig will provide the right platform for his group Stiff to showcase their latest hit single Umcimbi to Bulawayo.
The song features kwaito star Professor and it has seemingly started to make headway south of the Limpopo, particularly in Durban where the groupa��s form of house music is most appreciated.
a�?The song has really taken off this side and it is one of the hottest songs on the dance circuit particularly in Durban,a�? said Diliza from his South African base.
With that being the case, the deep voiced kwaito lyricist said he was looking forward to showcasing the song at this yeara��s Kalawa Homecoming, where he was also relishing the prospect of performing alongside fellow countrymen Jah Prayzah and Winky D.
a�?Kalawa is now a huge platform and for us there is no better place to fully introduce the song to the people of Bulawayo. This year is especially interesting because we will have Jah Prayzah and Winky D who we have heard a lot about in South Africa,a�? he said.
Even though they have an album looming on the horizon, Diliza said that the group was not going to release another single until the end of January.
