Dilo Aces seek sponsors

Dilo Aces are currently leading the way in the Zifa Harare Province Division 2A and the club’s secretary-general Joseph Mambondiyani yesterday said the club is now finding it difficult to finish the remaining 15 games.

The club, which was formed in 1997, has been surviving on donations by the management. Mambondiyani said they are looking to get promotion to Division One this year under new coach Kenny Matemere. “The team is currently doing well but the problem is we don’t have money any more to continue bankrolling the team. We experienced the same situation last year and we ended up losing our grit.

“The players need motivation, besides we need to pay for transport to fulfill our games,” said Mambondiyani. Meanwhile, Hippo Valley continued with their winning streak in the Eastern Region Division One championship race as they managed to beat Mutare Polytechnic  2-0 at Chishamiso on Saturday. Hippo Valley are under the guidance of Moses Chunga and have conceded only twice in a season they are yet to taste defeat. Going into the weekend’s fixtures, Hippo Valley were leading with 13 points ahead of second-placed Mutare City who also managed to beat ZRP Masvingo 2-1 at the weekend.
