Disney trip up for grabs

It might be hard to believe but Ster Kinekor is running a promotion that will see lucky winners from Africa’s southern region getting fabulous prizes and the ultimate one, a trip to Disneyland.

Can things get any cooler than that?
The complex manager for Zimbabwe’s leading cinema, Ster Kinekor Eastgate, Doreen Chuma, revealed this in an interview with Cool Lifestyle and all one has to do is fill out entry forms when they buy tickets of featured movies.

“The promotion has been running from March 8 and will round off on May 8. Winners will be drawn from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Lesotho, Zambia and Namibia at the Ster Kinekor headquarters in South Africa,” said Chuma.

Not only that but there are local consolation prizes of all expenses paid trips to some of the best tourism destinations and although plans are still in the pipe line, Cool Lifestyle sniffed out that Nyanga is on the options list.

“The featured movies include ‘Oz the Greatest and Powerful’, ‘Jack Slayer and the Cruidds’, ‘GI Joe Retaliation’, and ‘The host — Escape From Planet A’. One must watch any two of these movies to stand a chance to win in the draw on June 7 this year,” said Chuma.

It has been six months since Ster Kinekor made its grand launch that saw the cinema making ground-breaking changes like the introduction of 3D picture quality on the big screen and HD sound systems among other world-class standards.

The complex manager reiterated that there is no turning back for Ster Kinekor as they are going to keep up with the trends. Already, more upgrades have been made since the launch with the cinema boasting a killer sound system of 7,1 channel surround up from the 5,1 they installed a few months ago.

“Every time there is going to be something new in terms of technology and other equipment, we are going to be upgrading. We are also not going to be lagging behind on movies as well as we have everything for everyone. We will be featuring only the latest dramas, action, comedy, flicks and so on to keep the people entertained,” added Chuma.

With the school holidays just around the corner, many teens are set to experience a whole new adventure and this time around in the comfort of a much safer environment.
The cinema is one industry that had died down in our country but while some might not realise this, it plays an important factor in people’s lives. In other countries, cinemas are the places to be, with a lot of fun and excitement for people of all ages.

People get to watch blockbuster movies and at the same time hang out in a safe environment with their peers.
“The coolest thing about the cinema is that it is safer than other ungodly places where teens hang out these days. It’s actually a danger-free zone with security and trained staff that see that things are running smoothly,” she said.
