THE historic World Navi Northern Region Division One Soccer League Soccer Stars of the Year were selected yesterday. Pacesetters Flame Lily and Mushowani Stars produced two players each on the stars’ list. Mushowani skipper Zivanai Mhanda was named among the best players of the season. “I feel very happy to be part of the best players of the season and it is encouraging,” said said Mhanda.
“We have a good team and I thank my teammates who helped me achieve this and it was through hard work and I hope to play better next year.
“I was motivated and I hope to be among the top three.”
Tendai Mutandi also made it among the stars.
Kasimero Chimbadzwa, who was the favourite after scoring 20 goals, was disqualified as he picked six yellow cards.
Moses Demera of Gunners was also also not eligible.
