Gospel diva, Roe Makawa, says a miraculous fibroids healing in 2015 restored her relationship with God.
The Gwanda bred queen of praise and worship, who sings in Ndebele, Shona and English, said she had almost given hope on her battle with the ailment.

And, she reckons prayer and having eternal faith and God, helped her to recover at a time medical practitioners had given up.

In medical terms, fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the womb (uterus).

The growths are made up of muscle and fibrous tissue, and vary in size.

They’re sometimes known as uterine myomas or leiomyomas. Many women are unaware they have fibroids because they do not have any symptoms.

Fibroids causes heavy bleeding, which can result in anemia or inadequate number of red blood cells.

“I had reached a point where I was hopeless with doctors claiming my situation was out of hand.

“I had to fast and pray hard to overcome this problem, which I thought would end my life.

“When I went for the second scan, I was told the fibroids had miraculously disappeared and the same doctors were shocked,” she said.

Makawa, who sings gospel sungura says she has decided to honour the Lord with her new album titled Uyeza .

The album and its accompanying visuals will be launched this Friday at Chinhoyi Mall where gospel gurus have been invited.

It carries eight spiritually uplifting songs namely Seasons, Zoomer featuring Shantel Sithole, Endumisweni featuring Martha Longwe, Ndisiye, a collaboration with Admire Nago and Abokoe Makawa as well as Munoshamisa featuring Rumbie Chaleka-Gatawa.

The next three songs – Siyohlala Sijabula, Ngobambelela Kuwe and the title track Uyeza – make the album’s playlist complete.

The whole album was produced by Gibson Makumbe of VOT Studios while Brighton Magaya of Laktam Studios did the visuals.

“It was quite an amazing experience working with these talented producers and fellow backing vocalists who have helped me to come up with a competitive album.

“I will always cherish the experience because we have managed to come up with the best album ever over the years.

“I dedicate this album to all the people who have been there for me,” said the mother of three – two girls and a boy.

Makawa, an accomplished choreographer in her own right, said she would continue to use gospel to give the sick, down trodden and tormented soul hope.
“I would like to be remembered as a gospel artist who changed people’s lives and made life better in society.
“In my case, my journey wasn’t rosy but I have soldiered on to be where I am today.

“I’m glad that I have always founds God and as a pastor with His Presence Ministries, I am also doing my best to change the world.

“It is my hope that I will continue using my music to turn lost souls back to Christ,” she added.
