Divine lifting by God

Sunday Sermon with Apostle Chisale

GREETINGS, beloved, in the name of Jesus Christ. “For not from the east nor from the west nor from the south come promotion and lifting up. But God is the Judge! He puts down one and lifts up another.” (Psalm 75:6-7 AMPC).

When we read the scriptures, we discover that God is a progressive God. He desires to see us advance from one level to another, whether spiritually, physically, financially or in any aspect of our lives. God delights in taking His children higher, promoting us in all areas. He detests unproductivity and stagnation, that’s why He always encourages us to flourish, progress and move forward.

The Bible reminds us in Psalm 75:6-7 that promotion and lifting do not come from any direction in the natural world but are divine blessings bestowed by God. When God promotes you, no one can demote you.

Divine lifting signifies a transformative change in a person’s life. Through divine lifting, an ordinary individual can be elevated and join the ranks of the honourable. Divine lifting brings people from the dust to positions of authority and influence. When God chooses to visit you, the atmosphere transforms in your favour. The scriptures recount many stories of individuals whom God lifted from obscurity to prominence.

For example, in Esther 2:17-18, we read about Esther, who was elevated from being an orphan to becoming a queen, transitioning from a humble background to the royal palace where she mingled with the elite. This shows that your background or upbringing does not limit God’s ability to lift you from your circumstances. Esther found favour in the sight of all who encountered her, including the king.

Divine lifting also means being raised above your enemies and mockers. It signifies elevation in your career, making you the head and not the tail. Joseph’ s story in the Book of Genesis beautifully illustrates this. He was lifted from being a slave to becoming the Prime Minister—from a prison cell to a palace. Joseph faced numerous adversities: he was sold by his brothers, imprisoned under false accusations and forgotten. Yet, God’s timing is perfect. When the king had a dream no one could interpret, Joseph was finally remembered.

God orchestrated events so that Joseph rose to prominence in a foreign land, with even the king relying on him.
Every child of God is a candidate for divine lifting. However, many believers struggle because the devil contends with their blessings. There are ways to attract God’s divine lifting. Micah 5:2 tells us, “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from old, from everlasting.”

Bethlehem, though the least among the tribes of Judah, was chosen to bring forth the ruler, Jesus Christ. It was looked down upon, yet it carried the Word of God. Your present circumstances may seem insignificant, but God is willing to lift you. Being despised makes you a candidate for divine lifting. However, to attract this lifting, you must carry the Word and be rooted in it.
1 Peter 5:6 states, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, so that He may lift you up in due time.”

So there are two issues here, (i) being humble and (ii) being under the mighty hand of God. Humility and submission to God’s will are key to experiencing His lifting. We must position ourselves under God’s mighty hand and trust in His perfect timing.
As believers, we must resist the devil. Until we actively resist him through prayer, he will continue to contend for our blessings.

God has made provisions for your divine lifting, but you must engage in the fight of faith, praying your way into your inheritance. Through prayer, we acknowledge our complete dependence on God, entrusting our battles to Him for victory.
I invite you to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that He is Lord and you shall be saved. May God bless you all.
