THERE was action in three of the four Division One Soccer leagues last weekend and the top teams did not disappoint.
Eastern Region table toppers Wangu Mazodze mantained their firm grip at the top after they dismissed Renco Mine 2-0 when they played host to them at Mucheke Stadium on Sunday.
The victory means that they remain at the top of the log after 15 rounds of action.
Second placed Tenax continued with their pursuit for top spot after they also won 2-0 away to JM Busha on Saturday, to pile pressure on the log leaders who know that there is no margin for error as they hold a slender two-point lead.
At the bottom, 14th placed Manica Diamonds Under-19 side picked up three precious points after a 1-0 victory against 11th placed Masvingo United on Sunday after having played host to them at Mutare Show Grounds.
The victory will go a long way in aiding their survival hopes.
Southern Region log leader Arenel Movers extended their lead on top to nine points after defeating CIWU 2-0 at White City Stadium on Saturday.
They remain the only team that is yet to taste defeat in the league after the first 14 matches.
Adachi continue to fade away from title challenge as they lost 2-1 at home to Indlovu Iyanyathela.
The defeat left them 12 points away from the leaders.
Bosso90 put an end to their three-match losing streak after a 1-0 victory against Ratang at Luveve B Arena on Saturday thanks to an Akim Nkomo header from a corner kick.
Only one match took place in the Central Region with Chapungu winning 2-1 away against Dulibadzimu United to move to second place.
The Northern Region Region matches are still on hold as they are on mid-season break.
