Despite a seemingly big win in the semi-finals against the Green Machine, Diya has refused to take their final match against Monomotapa lightly as they have struggled against Biggie Zuze’s men this year.
“They have been very consistent on the field of play and if you can look back to the last league match we played against them you can see that they played so well but we managed to beat them because we had a greater fighting spirit,” said Diya.
“We are not taking anything away from them because they have been playing good football this season.
“But it should be known that Dynamos has over the years been involved in more difficult situations than this.
“We have played more difficult games in the Champions League and our players are quite aware of the challenge.
“We set our target at the beginning of the season that we should win both the league and the Mbada Cup.
“And we want to build on our recent success to win this Cup.”
Monomotapa have been in top form this season and they beat FC Platinum 1-0 at Sakubva to secure a berth in the final.
The Monomotapa technical department has succeeded in creating a passing game, which has seen them win many admirers this season.
“We have our own game plan and we are not going to read too much into their game,” said Dinya.
“Big teams like Dynamos should not be worried about how these small teams perform.”
Diya also praised goalkeeper George Chigova who has faced criticism recently.
“Chigova is doing well, Rome was not built in one day and there is still room for improvement for him, he is still young.
“Dynamos is a big institution and expectations are very high but as coaches we are seeing a big improvement from the young man,” said Diya.
