DJ Christos disappoints fans

After hours of waiting outside Visions Night Club, revellers were shocked to see a banner announcing the change of venue to Kudu Bar being put up outside.
Some of the followers of the South African DJ who made it to Kudu Bar were told at midnight that the show had been cancelled.
Thereafter tempers flared as revellers cried foul saying the organisers took them for a ride.

Revellers who spoke to Chronicle Entertainment felt they were taken for granted by what they termed “disorganised organisers” who made last minute decisions.
They expressed utter discontent with the level of incompetence shown by the organisers.
“I am a fan of DJ Christos and I was looking forward to his show and despite the last minute changes, I made an effort to go to Kudu Bar, but the place was virtually empty.
“What the organisers have proven is lack of organisation and I feel offended,” said a visibly emotional reveller known as Hlox.

Another reveller Rio Mampela said it was high time promoters went back to their drawing boards and considered promoting local DJs and artistes.
“The problem with local promoters is that they want to make quick money which comes at great risk.
“This should be a wake-up call to promoters and I believe it is time they went back to their drawing boards and consider promoting  local DJs and artistes some of whom are equally good,” Rio said.

Rio also said communication was very essential especially if  the shows targeted a broad audience.
“Whenever there is a show, many people are likely to be attracted and communication is essential.
“The organisers should have communicated with revellers on time to avoid confusion because posters around town directed everyone to Visions. Surprisingly a banner that announced the impromptu change of venue met them.

“On arrival at Kudu Bar, the place was empty,” said an offended Rio.
Sharon Moyo also echoed the same sentiments.
“I was hoping to have a good time with my friends, but being part of such confusion was not my idea of having fun.

“If only they had communicated on time or postponed the show then this would not have been what it is,” Moyo said.
In an interview,Visions Night Club director, Tanius Mbengegwi and his manager Onius Nyika who organised the show in conjunction with Kasi Events Management, said the show was a flop due to a number of reasons.

They said DJ Christos missed his flight, which created difficulties for them.
“The major challenge faced was DJ Christos missing his flight and this complicated everything.
“That is all I can say for now,” Mbengegwi said.

Visions manager, Nyika blamed “enemies who are bent on destroying their night club”.
“What people need to understand is that there is a lot happening at Visions.

“We have enemies plotting day and night to see our club in shambles which has resulted in some of these extreme losses we are facing,” Nyika said.
He said they also failed to publicise the event on time and this cost them.

“Our major challenge was getting enough publicity and making last minute decisions has regrettably cost us especially the change of venue,” said a visibly worried Nyika.
Kasi Events Management director Lungile Dube said that he was not impressed by the turnout and he apologised to revellers on behalf of the organising team.

“Kasi Events Management chipped in to clear the paperwork with Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra).
“On behalf of the organising team I would like to apologise to revellers. This industry has its ups and downs but the greater aspect is learning from our mistakes and trying to do better next time,” said Dube.

Dube also said revellers would find solace in the upcoming shows set to feature DJ Clock and Professor.
Local DJs  managed to keep the few revellers on their feet.

Among them was DJ Ross who is an up and coming DJ set to create waves as revellers danced to most of the music he belted out.
Other DJs lined up to perform on the night simply packed their bags and went elsewhere.
