Gweru’s finest, DJ Crocx (real name Simbarashe Chingwena) is gearing up for an electrifying performance at the Harris Music Festival set for Bulawayo on Saturday.

The event, widely regarded as the shutdown party for the week-long Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), will feature a star-studded line-up of both local and South African artistes.
On the decks, DJ Crocx will share the stage with Sfiso, Prince Eskhosini and Eugy.
In an interview, DJ Crocx said he is looking forward to returning to Bulawayo for his second appearance at the festival.
The Gweru-born DJ has grown into a national sensation, captivating audiences across the country with his versatility. Known for seamlessly blending genres such as Amapiano, Hip-hop, EDM and Dancehall, he has built a reputation for delivering dynamic sets without losing his identity.
“Being able to play across genres comes from my experience performing for different types of crowds. Over time, I’ve developed a strong understanding of music,” he said.
He added that reading the crowd has become second nature.
“It’s instinctive now. It’s about understanding energy, knowing when to switch things up and when to stay in the moment.”
Beyond live performances, DJ Crocx said he is focused on expanding his reach beyond Zimbabwe’s borders.
“I’m also focusing more on production and exploring different sounds,” he said.
The festival will also feature South African artistes including Makhadzi, Kamo Mphela, Scotts Maphuma, NaakMusiQ, Mthandeni SK, Cowboii, Tracy, Thukuthela, JazzWorx and GL Ceejay.
