AMIDST the public outcry against gender-based violence, DJ Euphonik (real name Themba Nkosi) took to his Twitter page to express his views – and they are that he and other men are trash.
“We are trash,” Euphonik tweeted. Shortly after this, his ex-girlfriend Bonang Matheba retweeted his tweet and said, “Nonke” (All of you), which is a phrase that was made popular by DJ Euphonik during his very public beef with the TV personality in 2016.
Fans, however, took the opportunity to remind the DJ of previous allegations that he physically abused Bonang during their relationship.
Shortly after, Euphonik responded to Bonang in a since deleted tweet.

Haha, Slam dunk! I forget you’re not normal. THIS IS A CRISIS. It’s not an opportunity to SEEK RELEVANCE or to TREND. All men are trash! Sonke! Anyways… good hanging with you the entire time you were in Ibiza this weekend. Come again soon,” he tweeted.
In 2012 Bonang applied for a permanent protection order against him at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court. She later dropped the charges.
In 2017 Euphonik came out to defend himself when Bonang laughed at Euphonik for being involved in Marie Claire’s ‘In Her Shoes’ campaign.
He went on to write a statement about their relationship and abuse allegations against him.
“On the night of the alleged abuse, we had a heated argument. I had turned to leave when she tried to stop me. I pushed her body away from me and walked out. She was not injured when I left so I can’t comment about where her facial wounds came from as I was not there to witness that,” he explained.
“She had later dropped charges on her own account without any interference or pressure from me, despite the belief by many that I had something to do with that decision. It was hers and her legal teams’ decision to make and not mine. We also did not settle out of court nor did I pay her to drop charges. We did however, reunite shortly after the incident believing we had put it behind us,” he wrote.— Entertainment24
