A WOMAN who was caught in bed by her husband is reportedly on the run after stealing US$4 000 from the husband.
The woman, Sithandiwe Gumede (30) has been married to local businessman, Thulani Dube for the past two years.
Mr Dube’s woes started in July when he reportedly stumbled on his wife having sexual intercourse with one Siboniso Msimanga at their matrimonial bed in Mahatshula.
Upon interrogating the two women, they confessed to have been in a sexual relationship for over four years.
In the latest development, Gumede is wanted by the police after she reportedly stole US$4 000 from her estranged husband and disappearing, with her friends claiming she had escaped to neighbouring South Africa to be with her lesbian lover.
Police Spokesperson, Chief Inspector Precious Simango confirmed the development.
“Yes we are investigating a case of theft where a woman stole her husband’s $4 000, we are being assisted by the husband and her friends in our investigations. Further we have proof that this woman was involved in a lesbian affair of which it is also illegal, the net is slowly closing in on her I must say,” said the police spokesperson.
Narrating his ordeal to B-Metro, Mr Dube said he was shocked to discover that his wife, with whom they have a one-year-old child, was in fact a lesbian.
“I honestly should have read between the lines because our sexual life was not as appetizing, in fact we used to have sex once in two weeks or longer, she would give an excuse of being tired in most cases.
“After I stumbled on them and got the confession, things haven’t been so rosy within my family, we tried to engage our pastor, even the family tried to intervene but Sithandiwe was adamant that she had no feelings for me, she infact claimed that society forced her to marry me,” said Mr Dube.
On the stolen money, Mr Dube revealed that family elders had been expected to visit them in Mahatshula to hold a traditional rite ceremony in a bid to rid Ms Gumede of what they termed a demon.
“The elders were expected in the evening and I had gone to town to buy some items which they said were requird, when I got home, I found she had disappeared, my safe was open and about US$4 000 which was inside was missing.
“If my mother had not forcibly taken away our child a day before the rituals were meant to be held we could be talking of another issue of kidnap. She has to pay for all she has done to me, I believe she should die in jail, that is where she belongs, she wasted my time and stole from me, I won’t rest till she is arrested” he said.
