THE State has withdrawn domestic violence charges against DJ Fantan before plea.
This comes after his wife, Gamuchirayi Nemukuyu, deposed an affidavit stating that she was no longer pursuing the matter.
The couple was back in court yesterday where Nemukuyu withdrew the case before Mbare Magistrate Rangarirai Gakanje.
Nemukuyu testified under oath that she understood her action and that she had done so of her own volition.
In her initial complaint, Nemukuyu had accused the Chillspot boss of malicious damage to property, under the Domestic Violence Act.
She claimed DJ Fantan damaged their dinner plates and cups worth US$250 after a misunderstanding sometime in May.
Nemukuyu had also told the police the entertainer was in the habit of abusing her.
Further claims were that she had opened a restaurant business at Stodart, Mbare, before the clash with DJ Fantan who wanted her to become a housewife.
DJ Fantan was also accused of having soaked their bedroom and children’s blankets in a bathtub.
Magistrate Gakanje accepted Nemukuyu’s withdrawal and dismissed the charges against DJ Fantan.
