BULAWAYO female deejay DJ Liz is set to take Harare by storm, promising to bring authentic Bulawayo vibes to the Castle Lager National Braai Festival crowd in the capital.

The spinner, who has made a name for herself as one of the first deejays from Bulawayo, as well as one of the few female deejays to perform at the festival, says she is ready to take the stage once again.

Speaking ahead of her performance in Harare on Saturday, DJ Liz said being selected to represent Bulawayo in the capital meant a lot to her.

“It means a lot to me because it’s a big stage and a whole new crowd. Representing Bulawayo is amazing because we are taking Bulawayo to Harare.

“Definitely, I won’t be playing what Harareans are used to. I will bring what Bulawayo is all about. I will bring the house down, just as we do things in Bulawayo,” she said.

DJ Liz said she was not intimidated by the challenge of playing to a different audience, having previously performed at the national event.

“I have played at the National Braai Fest, becoming one of the first deejays from Bulawayo and a female deejay, for that matter, to do so. I am up for the challenge once again,” she added.

In a bold declaration, DJ Liz revealed that her set would be 100 percent Bulawayo, with no attempt to cater to Harare’s musical tastes.

“My set is strictly about Bulawayo vibes, featuring artistes such as Mzoe7, Skaiva, Sandra Ndebele and many more. I will keep it a Bulawayo vibe so that they understand how we do things,” she said.

From Mzoe7’s hits to Skaiva’s street anthems and Sandra Ndebele’s timeless classics, Harare revellers can expect a showcase of Bulawayo’s musical identity.

Her performance comes as Bulawayo artistes continue to push for greater national recognition, with many arguing that the Harare-dominated music industry commands a larger share of airplay and performance opportunities.

For DJ Liz, the gig is more than just another booking. It is an opportunity to showcase Bulawayo’s sound to a wider audience and demonstrate the city’s musical identity on one of the country’s major entertainment stages.
