South Africa-based Zimbabwean entertainer and events promoter DJ Mapressa is celebrating a major career milestone after scooping the Excellence in Fashion Award at the South Africa–Zimbabwe Business Expo Awards, a recognition he says affirms his growing influence in the regional fashion and entertainment space.

He was nominated alongside several established creatives.

Speaking after receiving the award this past weekend, DJ Mapressa said the win reflects years of consistency and commitment to building a fashion movement that bridges Zimbabwe and South Africa.

“What I can say is that being nominated alone already showed that the work I’ve been doing through fashion shows and other projects was being recognised. Winning the award now means I’m doing really well in this industry,” he said.

He said the recognition signals growing international visibility for his brand.
“I can confidently say that Mapressa Glam fashion is now being recognised internationally. After receiving this award and also being honoured at the Imiklomelo kaDakamela, it shows that Mapressa Glam is really pushing and making an impact,” he said.

The award adds to the rising profile of Mapressa Glam, which has become an emerging platform spotlighting Zimbabwean fashion, entertainment and lifestyle talent within South Africa’s creative scene.

With anticipation building around upcoming Mapressa Glam showcase in June, the latest recognition is expected to boost the brand’s credibility and open doors for wider regional collaborations.
