DJ Sbu needs cleansing, sangoma declares

“SBU has to go back to his roots if he wants to get rid of his bad luck.” This is the warning Daily Sun sangoma Dumezweni Mahabuke has for the businessman and DJ, whose real name is Sbusiso Leope. The warning came after Sbu was bust for drunken driving for the third time last Saturday. “If you’re born black, you’re born black and you can’t run away from that fact. Worse is still to come for Sbu if he doesn’t go back to his culture and get cleansed,” Mahabuke said.

“There is a cloud following him and he has been trying to avoid it because of his religion.”

DJ Sbu was released from the cells of the Krugersdorp Police Station in Mogale City on bail of R1,500. This has not been the only scandal to hit him recently.

Last month, DJ Sbu had to put the production of his energy drink, Mofaya, on hold after it emerged that there was a SABS logo on the bottle without the bureau having approved it.

In March, Sbu’s career at Metro FM came to a dramatic end when he was dismissed for promoting his energy drink at the Metro FM Awards in Durban. Days before his dismissal Sbu landed in hot water for sharing a fake photo of himself on the cover of Forbes Africa magazine on social media.

In the same month he was also accused of promoting his drink at the entrance of Bassline in Newtown during the memorial service for rapper Flabba Habedi. Sbu denied the accusation. – DailySun
