LONDON. — Novak Djokovic has set his sights on securing a hat-trick of ATP World Tour Finals in London after enjoying a successful campaign on the indoor tennis hard courts.
The 2012 and 2013 champion is currently on an impressive 27 match unbeaten run indoors after retaining his Paris Masters title last week. And now the Serb will be aiming to end the season on a high by holding off Roger Federer at the top of the rankings and securing his seventh title of the year by winning on the banks of the River Thames.
“It definitely encourages me the fact that I have played so well [in Paris] and that I have won the past four indoor tournaments in the past two years that I’ve played,” the 27-year-old told atpworldtour.com. “From outdoor hard court that was my most successful and most preferred surface, now I guess it’s an indoor court. I do feel very comfortable playing, returning, serving in these conditions.”
Djokovic also has fond memories of London, having won the last two season ending finale’s against Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal respectively at the O2 Arena, as well as claiming his seventh grand slam title at Wimbledon in July. — Sky Sports.
