RECENTLY crowned Mr Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Ndumiso Dlodlo believes his legs gave him a strong foundation, and were solely the reason why he came up tops at the bodybuilding contest staged at Cloud Nine last Saturday.

The South Africa-based muscleman walked away with the title after seeing off competition from seven local bodybuilders.

The 25-year-old who grew up in Nkulumane but has been living in Johannesburg for the past seven years said it was the first time he competed in Bulawayo but was a regular feature in Harare competitions.

“I won because I trained hard. I have strong legs that give me a good foundation. It was my first time to compete in Bulawayo in the years that I have been a bodybuilder. It feels good to compete in home competitions. It is good to be here to support my home boys.

“I am definitely coming back next year to defend my title,’’ said Dlodlo, who took home a trophy and a medal which was accompanied by $400, perhaps a handsome reward for a few hours of flexing muscles in front of an appreciative crowd.

Dlodlo has now set his sights at the Arnold Classic South Africa to be staged at the Sandton Convention Centre from 27 to 29 May. Another Bulawayo bodybuilder Lovemore Munyamana, will take part in the contest.
