GUNNERS coach Darlington Dodo has warned their opponents Cargo Carriers to expect a tough game when the two teams meet today at Rufaro in the Northern Region Division One Soccer League.
The former Premiership champions have dropped five points in the last two games against DStv Rangers and Karoi United.
Dodo said he is not happy with the way they have been performing and noted that they need to redeem themselves when they take on Cargo Carriers.
“We have prepared well although we have some injuries here and there but I think we have a team that is competent.
“I have actually seen them, they are not a bad team, they are a good side but they should expect fireworks from us because we are looking at what happened in the last two games and we are not happy.
“We need to have quality strikers who can get the ball into the net, the midfielders are doing their job but the strikers are not scoring” said Dodo.
Dodo said they still have work to do since there have been some changes to the team compared to the side that was there last year.
“If you look at the team that I have, it has changed a lot from the team that played last year and we have a lot of things to work on.
“I am also new and from day one you try to look at players one by one but I think we will get it right as we go,” said Dodo.
Gunners, who were the runners-up last year, need to up their game considering that it’s now eight games into the season.
Cargo Carriers coach Tendai Chapfika said he is excited about today’s game as he meets his mentor, Dodo.
“What makes this game interesting is Dodo is the one who taught me to be a coach and it’s like a student meeting his teacher.
“So it will be very interesting because some of the things he taught me are what I will be applying.
“When I started venturing into coaching in 2010, when I was with Warthog in Division Two, he used to come to my training sessions giving me tips, encouraging me and he was like my pillar till I joined Cargo and last year we got promoted,” said Chapfika.
