Will the ladies in Harare execute the theme?
The highly anticipated all women parties Doek and Slay is just around the corner, and the ladies of Harare are gearing up to slay the game with their vintage themed outfits.
The event, which promises to be an unforgettable day of music and style, is to be held at Alex Sports Club, Harare, has got the ladies buzzing with excitement.
From flowy dresses to statement accessories, the ladies are set embrace the vintage theme with gusto.
And with the likes of local artists sensations like Intotal Band, Feli Nandi, Winky D and Iyasa taking to the stage, organisers said it is going to be a day to remember.
Organisers of the event said they are confident that Harare will bring on the heat.
Last Sunday, ladies in Mutare understood the assignment with performances from Freeman and Feli Nandi.
“We’re beyond thrilled that the Mutare Queens nailed the dress code! Their execution of the vintage theme was flawless, and we’re confident that the ladies in Harare will bring the same level of enthusiasm and style.
“The dress code is crucial, as it not only sets the tone for the event but also teaches confidence in fashion and lifestyle. We’re excited to see Harare take on the vintage theme and know they’ll slay it just like Mutare did! Confidence in fashion is key, and we’re sure Harare will rock it,” said one of the organisers.
Some of them confirmed that they are not just coming for the tunes − they’re coming to SERVE UP some serious fashion realness with vintage-inspired outfits that are sure to turn heads.
“Some of us have been in this game of styling for some time now, so for some of us, this is now a culture we cannot wait for Sunday.
One thing I am sure of is that we will do more than Mutare,” said Matipa Chitsa, who is now regular at Doek and Slay.
Another woman, Paida Mhizha said: “When have we ever missed a theme in Harare, we are ready to serve some looks,
So, will the ladies execute the vintage theme to perfection? Only time will tell.
Last year, the event had its first edition in Zambia and featured Enzo Ishall and Towela Kaira from Zambia.
This year, the all-women party is set to make an international grand entrance in the United Kingdom in September as part of the second edition.
Doek and Slay events are hosted country wide at suitable outdoor venues and so far the have been to Harare, Mutare, Masvingo, Kadoma, Gweru and Bulawayo.
There has been a notable growth in unity and peace amongst women, strangers have become sisters, mothers have created memorable encounters with their daughters and friendships have been strengthened too. It is without a doubt that the event has promoted the Zimbabwean culture and making Zimbabwe a destination of choice.
