ORGANISERS of the Doek and Slay have dismissed claims by some sections of the social media that the function is a platform for Satanism.
The event which attracted more than 13 000 women was held at Alex Sports Club on Sunday.
The ladies, who were dressed to impress, turned up wearing denims with white tops, and stylish doeks.
However, following the success of the event, some sections of social media has been discrediting the oversubscribed gig as influenced by Satanism.
In an interview with H-Metro, the organisers said the platform was designed for women of all ages to mix and mingle, exchanging ideas.
They said the concept is for ladies to unite so they can exchange business ideas.
“The event is far away from Satanism.
“It’s just pure entertainment, we created a platform that brings women together since most ladies are self-employed, but they don’t have time to refresh on their own.
“The event is meant for women to come together and wear their crown with pride.
“At Doek and Slay this ladies get to support other women exhibiting their products, motivate each other and above all love one another.”
Besides good music and food being served during the lifestyle gatherings, it has become a mini-business exposition where ideas are genuinely shared.
“Vending stalls and booked tents that are usually erected at “Doek & Slay” gatherings bear enough testimony of serious business taking place.”
Meanwhile, hundreds of fans were duped by touts selling fake tickets resulting in them being sent away by the event organisers.
The organisers issued a statement on their Facebook page following the drama.
Some fans had their tickets confiscated at check-in points as security believed they were fake.
Reports are that they found 708 fake tickets and 1452 fake tags.
“Askana, I believe you now see why we kept advising you not to purchase tickets from individuals and the outlets we did not specify haaa tarwadziwa kukuonai muchichema.”
The organisers told H-Metro that they are going to take action to avoid such cases in future.
