Last week we spoke about not missing the season. It is important to understand seasons and times of life. Making a decision and discovering how one can tap into success in life through the power of decision-making.
Today we will go to 2 Kings 7:3-4 and discover how we can shake off our limiting past experience and current blockages and get into our destiny!
Okay like it. Four men who were nobodies, outcasts, forgotten and rejected changed Israel’s history! I say to you today you are a history-changer! Read on!
‘‘And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live, and if they kill us, we shall but die.’’ 2 Kings 7:3-4.
Everybody in the city had forgotten about the four leprous men — all they anticipated was just but their date of burial.
There could be people right now who are wishing death of your marriage; death of your finances; death of joy in your family, at work, in finances and all. I have a good word for you — they will hear about you, but not your death! No, no, no.
They will hear about your resurrection in Jesus name! Let every dead area of your life resurrect this middle time of the year!
Let me tell you a success secret; your best of yesterday should be today’s better and tomorrows good.
Meaning you do not need to settle for less or yesterday’s best things.
Move on, advance, don’t be proud of yesterday — yesterday is gone, a new day is rising, give and do better than yesterday, and excel even more in your tomorrow.
With this mentality you can and will do the impossible. You will progress, advance and go higher and higher and higher. Don’t be stagnant. People don’t drink stagnant water.
Don’t weep about yesterday — you can fight for a better today and brighter tomorrow.
Don’t keep telling us ‘‘Haaa its tough, life is tough, everything is tough!’’ No brother, it was tough yesterday but today it’s another day!
Hear this old story about the Hare and the Lion. Lion was hungry and chased Hare, who quickly ran into a hole. Now, the Lion waited and said to the Hare, ‘‘I will go nowhere; I am sitting here, until you come out.’’ Hare was afraid and said, ‘‘I will also not come out.’’ As time went on and progressed, Lion became very hungry and pulled off a bunch of his fur and put it on the entrance of the hole, so that hare would think, Lion is still there waiting — and went to look for other food. For days Hare was in the hole pointing to the fur left by the lion saying, ‘‘Eeeh Lion you think I am a fool? I am seeing you – you are at that entrance, I will not come out!’’ It went on for some time, until one day Hare made up his mind and said, ‘‘Mr Lion, I don’t care you are waiting for me there, I am coming out right now! Whatever happens, happens, I am coming!’’
With that spirit of determination he ran out and only found the fur scattering all over — since Lion had long gone! Ooo hallelujah! Friend — your door is open! Don’t be intimidated by yesterday’s pressures, denials, rejections and closed doors! It’s a new season favour has come!. Like the Hare, make up your mind and go for your future.
The leprous men therefore first told themselves, there is nothing for us in the city! (If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there, 2 kings 7:4a) In other words, let’s forget about the past. Let’s forget we have been rejected and cast out from the city. There is nothing there for us. Let’s accept it, let’s let go! You could have been dumped with a loved one years ago and now your child is in Grade 5 and you are still hurting, weeping and crying with what happened before you even had that child. Come on, release yourself. Don’t feel sorry about yourself or allow people to pity you. You were born to be a fighter! Fight, fight, fight! Go and, do exploits, build a multi-bed-roomed house, eat the food on your table with content and thanksgiving unto the Lord.
Bigger things are ahead.
Secondly, they told themselves, ‘‘Why sit we here until we die?’’ 2 Kings 7:3. If we stay here we shall die. Friend, present or today is not your destiny, (unless you are dying today!) You can still go far.
Don’t accept today as the final call, No! If you are 65, you can still go on, you still have life ahead, there are others over 90 years old and still going – you can still go on! Life is a Journey; don’t arrive before you arrive, ooo hallelujah! Don’t quickly surrender in life, usafe usati wafa (don’t die before you die).
Finally they told themselves, ‘‘Now therefore come, and let us fall on the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live, and if they kill us, we shall but die.’’
Friends; the future is yours — forget yesterday, neither settle for today, press on toward your goal and destiny.
Surely the men upon coming to the enemies’ camp; found the enemy long flee and left a lot of spoils, silver, gold, clothes, food and all, (for God had amplified their steps and seemingly made it like a great army coming!).
Hallelujah, men and women of faith are a great army! What was their enemies’; became theirs! Glory to God, may he turn around your story, ‘‘For with God all things are possible,” Mark 10:27.
