Don’t judge others on basis of a snapshot

Pauline Matanda

LIFE comes in phases as it goes through different stages.

There is a period where, like grasshoppers, we hop from grass to grass.

Then, there is a time when we move from grass to grace.

Every stage of life lays a foundation for the next phase. Thus, you need to treasure every moment as it prepares you for the next mission. For a while now, I have been meditating on Pastor Batanai Jonga’s message based on a “snapshot”.

The message is derived from scriptures in the book of Genesis.

“Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.

“And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, ‘Bow the knee!’ So he set him over all the land of Egypt.” — Genesis 41:42-43

A snapshot is a frozen moment of life.

It, however, is not a true representation of your full life. Unfortunately, this world can judge you based on a snapshot of your life, without watching the full video.

You have a history and you have a future.

It is a sheer waste of time trying to explain to people the circumstances behind a particular snapshot of your life — usually a sad moment. Move on and let the world witness the full manifestation of what God has loaded in you.

A snapshot of Joseph’s life in the pit could have led many to conclude that he was doomed. His picture in Potiphar’s home could have had him labelled a rapist.

Even his selfie in prison could have attracted comments suggesting he was a failure in life, and friends could have deserted him.

But all this was a process that led him to the palace.

In the fullness of time, the whole puzzle was completed. Do not worry about a bad snapshot of your life. A life-changing and mind-boggling story is developing in you.

To everyone out there, do not judge a person based on a snapshot.
