Doom pastor doomed

THE Limpopo High Court on Monday banned Prophet of Doom Lethebo Rabalago (24) from spraying his followers with insecticide.

The controversial pastor from Mount Zion Christian Church in Mathibela, Limpopo made headlines last year after a video of him spraying congregants with Doom went viral on social media.

Rabalago claimed the spray would heal sick followers but the provincial department of health took him to court to stop him from spraying people with it.

His court appearance on Monday was his second.

Rabalagoas lawyer, Edmond Lubisi, argued that his client had prayed over the insecticide before spraying it on church members, which made it holy.

However, Judge George Phatudi said Rabalago was not a scientist and was using toxic chemicals.

Health MEC Phophi Ramathuba said her department welcomed the court ruling.
