GOSPEL diva, Dorcas Moyo, on Sunday hailed Alick Macheso as a humble man who deserves respect.

She opened up on the sidelines of the Winter Warmer show where she got an opportunity to share the stage with Macheso.

The award-winning diva collaborated with Macheso on the song Mhanza Haisekwi.

The two performed the song together at Harare Gardens, sending the crowd into delirium.

“Baba Macheso is heaven-sent and a father figure to us,” she said.

“I have never seen a person who is humble, caring and supportive like him.

“When I approached him for this collaboration, I was humbled by his commitment.

“We really worked like father and daughter in the studio.

“He boasts of rich knowledge in music and we should always try to utilise such figures if we want to go far.”

Dorcas said she was willing to hold more shows alongside Macheso.

“After this show, I am ready to engage his management for more family shows.

“As female artists, we need this kind of support and backing from father figures of Macheso’s calibre.

“I feel blessed to have worked with him on this project and I can also assure my fans that there is more to come,” she said.

Macheso hailed Dorcas for her resilience.

“Dorcas Moyo is one of my favourite artists whose music touches my heart.

“When I see her, I see a blessed daughter in Christ who is destined for greater things.

“As an industry, we are blessed to have her in the arts fraternity,” he said.

Macheso urged Dorcas to remain focused.

“My advice to her is for my daughter to remain focused and compose more touching songs.

“She has nothing to prove but to continue raising the bar she has set.”
