Dorcas Moyo in studio, promises “explosive” 11th album

MUTARE-based gospel musician Dorcas Moyo is back in the studio working on her 11th album, a project she believes will be one of the most powerful releases of her career.

Titled Korona Yeimvi, the 10-track album is being recorded at Kunashe Studios and is scheduled for launch on October 31.

The forthcoming project follows the success of her 2025 album Mugeri Tsvatu, which dominated gospel radio charts and further cemented Moyo’s status as one of Zimbabwe’s leading gospel artistes.

Confident about the new offering, Moyo said fans should expect an uplifting and spiritually enriching sound.
“I can assure my fans and followers that this will be one of my best albums. Personally, I once asked myself what the Lord really planned for me with such talent.
“We’ve worked on all the instrumentals and part of the vocals, and people should expect an explosive sound that the Heavenly Melodies and I have created as we celebrate and appreciate God for everything He has done for us,” she said.

Like many of her previous projects, Korona Yeimvi draws inspiration from biblical teachings, with the title symbolising spiritual growth, maturity and victory through faith.

Moyo said the album reflects a believer’s journey from spiritual infancy to maturity, citing scriptures including 1 Peter 2:2, Hebrews 5:12, 1 Corinthians 13:11 and Proverbs 16:31.
“Life evolves and so should Christianity. As new-born babies, we should crave for milk, but we should grow to desire solid food. Jesus Christ Himself grew in wisdom and stature, pleasing both God and people, and put away childish things.
“Having traversed all the stages of life, God places a crown of grey hair upon my head, a sign of maturity, a testimony of resilience and an affirmation of battles well fought. It is a crown that symbolises victory, confirmed royalty and dominion. I present to you, my fellow soldiers of the Cross, Korona Yeimvi,” she said. – Follow on X:
