Gospel musician Dorothy Chipo (born Dorothy Madamba) is making waves with her latest single, Lord You’re Good, which is quickly gaining traction on the airwaves.

The track recently entered Skyz Metro FM’s Top 10 gospel charts and currently holds the impressive position of number four. Known for her unique fusion of gospel with Amapiano vibes, Dorothy Chipo continues to captivate her audience with fresh, innovative sounds.

Dorothy began her professional music career in 2012 with the release of her first single, Jesu Wezvishamiso, followed by the launch of her album, Promises of a Brighter Day.

Lord You’re Good, she says, is a reflection of her personal struggles and triumphs, showing how God’s grace has shaped her life.
“This song is about recognising that God doesn’t owe us anything, and whatever He gives us is by grace, which is not something we can earn. Often, a sense of entitlement takes away our joy, but gratitude unlocks many possibilities,” Dorothy explained.

She continued, “I’m especially grateful for surviving nephrotic syndrome and being able to live a healthy life. When I was discharged, I left behind others who are still going through hemodialysis, but by God’s grace, I am well and able to sing again.”

Beyond her music, Dorothy is also focused on growing the Hour of Power worship initiative. This is a special time for worship through music, prayer, and other expressions of faith.
“We plan to continue hosting Hour of Power worship events regularly, leading up to our annual Thanksgiving musical event. We also look forward to releasing more singles in the future,” she shared.

Hour of Power is a series of scheduled one-hour gatherings on selected Fridays, allowing people to come together and worship God freely, without the typical constraints of a Sunday service. Dorothy added that in 2024, guest worship leaders joined the events, enriching the experience for attendees.
“It’s a special time for those who want a deeper connection with God, outside the usual Sunday morning gatherings,” Dorothy Chipo said. – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
