A DOUBLE anthology book launch was held yesterday at the Harare Club Hotel Library showcasing the work of local writers and poets.
The event attracted a large crowd of book lovers, who came to support their favourite authors and discover new ones.
The two anthologies, titled “Time and Chances” and “In the Fullness of Time”, feature stories and poems inspired by the human day-to-day lives and the natural world.
The books were published by the local writers around Zimbabwe.
The book launch featured readings from several contributors, including some established authors and some newcomers to the writing scene.
Monica Chanda and Patience Musa were part of the cast.
Those who attended also had the opportunity to meet the authors and have their books signed.
Audrey Chirenje, who complied all the stories, said:
“It was difficult as I normally work with one author at a time and this time I was dealing with 20 writers on the two books and I am grateful that we have managed to publish the book.
“Being part of this writing group has been such a great experience and has given me the confidence to pursue my dream of becoming a writer.”
The anthologies are available at local bookstores and online retailers.
