DOUBLE B ending Bosso’s unwanted records

HIGHLANDERS boss Balterma “Double B” Brito is the oldest coach in the Castle Lager Premiership but he is showing his class by putting an end to all the unwanted records at the club.

Brito, 71, has smashed three records which were haunting Highlanders in the past.

His latest being their 2-1 win over FC Platinum at Barbourfields on Sunday.

Bosso had failed to get the better of the champions in nine seasons.

Highlanders had last tasted a win over the Zvishavane miners courtesy of Charles Sibanda’s solitary goal in 2014.

But it all that changed on Sunday in Brito’s second season as the club’s coach.

Before this match, the coach had broken a six-year jinx, which had seen Bosso failing to beat Black Rhinos in the capital.

He only needed McKinnon Mushore’s 58th minute strike to end that bad spell.

The gaffer marked his arrival in the Castle Lager Premiership by ending a four-year jinx in which Bosso had failed on the road.

The Bulawayo giants beat Yadah Stars 3-2 at the National Sports Stadium.

He started with the four-year away winless streak, a six-year without a win against Chauya Chipembere in the capital and now he has ended a lengthy wait for them to beat FC Platinum.

It now remains to be seen if Brito can overcome the mother of all tests by winning the championship with Bosso.

The Bulawayo giants last won the league title 17 years ago.
