A LOCAL school director has been honoured as one of Zimbabwe’s 2023 Influential Women in Project Management for her role in the construction of educational facilities.
Dr Maria Mafunga runs the Quality Junior School in Mashonaland East Province.
Her school has been one of the leading junior educational facilities in the past six years throughout the province.
She was honoured by the Chartered Institute of Project Managers, in partnership with Women in Projects Management Leadership Summit.
Dr Mafunga told H-Metro that she was honoured to be contributing to shaping the future generation of the country’s leaders.
“Glory be to our Redeemer and Saviour Jesus Christ,” said Dr Mafunga.
“It is my wish to see the school remaining a place of personal and moral growth for children and a centre for academic excellence.”
It has been a good few weeks for Dr Mafunga who was found by the High Court to have been the one who was acting correctly in a dispute over the family house in Mabvuku.
The High Court ruled that her brother’s children were the ones who were not acting in the proper way.
