PREPARATIONS for the Bubi District Business Expo set for next month are gathering momentum, with organisers confirming that the venue has been secured and stakeholder mobilisation is underway as the district prepares to showcase its economic potential and promote local business growth.
The Expo will be held at the Inyathi Training Centre between 17 and 18 September 2026, with Dr Sibanda, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Small and Medium Enterprises Development, expected to officiate as the guest of honour. An official invitation has already been sent out to invite key stakeholders.
During a planning meeting, the District Development economist, Pretty Moyo, presented an overview of the proposed Bubi District Business Expo, describing it as a platform to showcase the district’s economic potential, promote local enterprises, attract investment, strengthen business linkages and advance the Local Economic Development (LED) agenda.
The meeting, which was attended by officials from Bubi Rural District Council and various Government departments, highlighted the need for broad stakeholder participation and coordinated planning to ensure the success of the event. They noted that the Expo will bring together Government departments, financial institutions, private sector companies, development partners, educational institutions, local authorities and community organisations to create partnerships that support business development and economic growth.
A number of organisations have been identified for participation, including financial institutions such as ZB Bank, SMEDCO, the Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank, CBZ Bank, CABS, Tottengram and AFC Holdings. Companies from the food and beverage sector, including Arenel Bakers, Bakers Inn, Lobels, Proton Bakers, Delta Beverages, Pepsi Zimbabwe and Ingwebu Breweries, are also expected to take part.
Agricultural companies, telecommunications providers, regulatory bodies, local authorities, non-governmental organisations, tertiary institutions, medical service providers and sporting organisations have also been earmarked for engagement as organisers seek to ensure wide representation across different sectors.
The Bubi District Business Expo is going to be held under the theme: “Resilient and Gainful Enterprises towards Vision 2030.” It is expected to provide a platform for networking, investment promotion and knowledge sharing while creating opportunities for local businesses and contributing to sustainable economic development in the district.
