AFTER more than two decades serving in the education sector, Sunday News columnist Dr Manners Msongelwa, popularly known as Dr Muso, is entering a new chapter focused on transforming education through consultancy, teacher development, leadership training and learner empowerment programmes.
Dr Muso, an educator, author, coach and education consultant, is using his extensive experience in teaching, school inspection, curriculum support and educational leadership to build platforms that support schools, teachers, parents and learners across Zimbabwe.
Having served in different capacities within the education sector, including school inspection and quality assurance, Dr Muso has developed a deep understanding of the challenges facing schools and the opportunities available for improvement. His current work focuses on helping institutions build strong systems, improve academic performance, strengthen leadership and embrace innovation.
Through his education initiatives, Dr Muso is conducting career guidance programmes, examination preparation sessions, teacher professional development workshops and leadership forums for schools. His programmes are designed to equip learners with life skills, teachers with effective classroom strategies and school leaders with tools for creating high-performing institutions.
Dr Muso is also expanding his media presence through education programmes such as MusoEduTalks and his appearances on radio, where he engages learners, teachers and parents on issues ranging from examination preparation and teaching strategies to career development and responsible citizenship.
As an author, Dr Muso has contributed significantly to education through his books, including Zimbabwean History textbooks and guidance and counselling publications. He has also created digital learning resources, including online History lessons that have helped thousands of learners access curriculum support.
Beyond academics, his work promotes skills development and alternative pathways for young people through vocational programmes, entrepreneurship awareness and career exploration initiatives.
Dr Muso believes that education must go beyond examination results and should prepare young people to become confident, innovative and responsible citizens.
