considered and adopted the draft principles.
“The draft principles were adopted and subsequently presented by the minister responsible for Labour Administration to the Council of Ministers on November 24, 2011,” he said.
Mr Museka said the Council of Ministers revisited the principles on February 23 this year.
“Once Cabinet has approved the principles the next stage is that of drafting the TNF Bill,” he said.
He dismissed concerns that enthusiasm in the TNF was waning, saying the main body had mandated the technical committee to give priority to the activities leading to
promulgation of the TNF legislation.
This was after the realisation that engagements within the TNF needed the backing of a legal framework. “In this regard, the tripartite technical committee has since January 2011 been working on the aspect of coming up with the TNF legislation among other activities assigned to it,” he said. — New Ziana.
