Dragon FC using football to fight depression

DRAGON Mall FC chairman, Mike Mudamburi, says they are using social football as a tool to fight depression.

Mudamburi believes the nature of their business requires their minds to be refreshed whenever possible.

“As dealers, the grass is not always green for us.

“Sometimes our sad days exceed our happy days.

“So, it becomes a problem for many of us to manage the pressure that comes with paying the bills,” said Mudamburi.

He added:

“As a group of dealers who operate at Dragon Mall, we decided to form a team to have fun through social football.”

The team was established five years ago and is not affiliated to any social league.

Dragon Mall FC pick their opponents randomly, and they prefer to play against other dealers’ teams from different fields.

The club’s coach, Nesbert Muchichwa, urged companies to participate in the social league.

“I think companies should try to get involved in social football.

“It’s in their best interest because the healthier the workers are, the higher the productivity,” said Muchichwa.

“These workers need time to interact and once they start to connect at a deeper level, there won’t be any problem.”

Dragon Mall FC are set to play Kambuzuma-based Warumwa on Sunday.
